Empowering Himalayan Women, One Life at a Time
Based in Gangtok, Sikkim, Maya Trust for Women is a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting vulnerable and disadvantaged girls and women across the Himalayan region. We believe that when a woman is educated, healthy, and economically independent, she not only transforms her own life — she becomes a catalyst for change in her family, community, and future generations.
Our work focuses on providing access to quality education, vocational training, livelihood opportunities, and essential healthcare. From supporting girls’ schooling to training women in tailoring and computer skills, we create pathways to dignity and self-reliance.
Co-founded by spiritual leaders Tulku Ngawang Tenzin and Tulku Nyiya, Maya Trust draws strength from deep-rooted compassion and a vision for equality. We walk alongside the women we serve — offering not just aid, but hope, tools, and lasting transformation.
Together with our partners, volunteers, and donors, we are building a world where every woman, no matter her background, has the chance to rise.
